Brookside Park – Grantham, NH (July 11, 2016)

More of a nature path than a hike, Brookside Park’s short (< 1 mile), fun trail is a great place for locals to go if they have young children or just want to get out for a few minutes. The trail appears to be new or has had sections recently rebuilt. There are signs (complete with QR Codes) telling the history of the area, as well as a new bridge.

I could have complete the trail in 20 minutes or less, but I used the opportunity to experiment with my camera and new backpacking tripod (details below).

The  gallery will load slowly. Thank you for your patience.

If you regularly hike or backpack in the northeast, please join our Facebook group, New England Hiking and Backpacking!
It’s a great place to ask questions and share your photos, trip reports and gear recommendations.

Gear

  • Camera Gear –  I’ve been looking for a solution that would allow my camera to go directly from my camera clip to a lightweight tripod. I recently purchased an adapter and tripod and used this opportunity to test everything on the trail.
  • HOKA One One Tor Summit Mid WP Hiking Boot
    • When I want waterproof boots or extra ankle protection, these boots have become my go-to over the last few months. They’ve held up well to hiking as well as everyday use. I will post a full review soon.

Nice writeup of the park. Yes, you came to the park at the right time, the Town of Grantham Conservation Commision spent much of 2015 and 2016 restoring the trail system and building the new bridge. Glad you enjoyed it.

      Hi Rich,

Good to hear from you! How did you find my post?

Please let me know if you need volunteers to work on projects in the area. I’m very busy with work and my two young sons, but would like to help if possible!
